Other contenders included Sify Digital, Yotta, CloudThat Technologies, Cyfuture India, I2k2 Networks, and Ishan Infotech, among others.

The empanelment will remain effective for 36 months, with a provision to extend the duration by an additional 12 months, subject to mutually agreed terms.

The chosen companies will be onboarded as agencies to deliver AI compute services to startups, researchers, students, and academicians.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) announced that 19 service providers have submitted bids to offer artificial intelligence (AI) compute and cloud services under the ₹10,738 crore IndiaAI Mission.

Participants in the bidding round included cloud service providers, managed service providers, MSMEs, and data centre service providers, such as Jio Platforms, Tata Communications, Sify Digital Services, Yotta, and CMS Computers India, among others. Additional bidders included CloudThat Technologies, Cyfuture India, I2k2 Networks, Ishan Infotech, Orient Technologies Limited, NxtGen Datacenter and Cloud Technologies, Path Infotech, Shezar Web Technologies, Unicloud Labs, and Vensysco Technologies.

Students, researchers, academicians, and startups will be able to access AI compute services from the chosen companies. As part of the IndiaAI compute project, the government is working with commercial organizations to build infrastructure that can handle 10,000 graphics processing units (GPUs).

According to MeitY, the pre-bid meeting in August 2024 saw participation from 50 service providers, with the bid submission deadline set for November 28 and bid opening on December 2.

A technical evaluation committee will now assess the bids based on the eligibility and technical criteria outlined in the Request for Empanelment (RFE) document. Eligible bidders will then present their solutions before the panel. Only those deemed technically qualified will proceed to the commercial bidding phase.

The empanelment will be valid for 36 months, with an option to extend the term by an additional 12 months on mutually agreed terms, MeitY confirmed.
